What is Aavegotchi?

Aavegotchi is a colorful Play-to-Earn game combining the best of DeFi  and NFTs!

Aavegotchis are pixelated ghosts and crypto collectibles with varying degrees of rarity. Built on Ethereum and Polygon, these loveable NFT characters are backed by the ERC-721 standard, and allow players to stake their avatars and earn interest.

Three primary attributes determine characters’ rarity:

1. Collateral stake: each character has aTokens against it that can yield rewards from the liquidity pool in-game.
2. Traits: in total, there are three traits. Random traits, Kinship and Experience. 
3. Wearables: these are child NFTs. Different wearables are available for different Aavegotchi. 

Character consumables are available in the Aavegotchi Maall which is updated regularly. 

The main gameplay elements for Aavegotchi revolve around the mini-games. Here, you can put your characters to the test against other players to level them up and progress in the game.

Community spirit is at the heart of Aavegotchi. Not only can you play mini-games created by the developers, but there is also an option to play ones created by other players.

Along with mini-games, there is also a PvP game mode known as The Aarena. Climb the leaderboards and battle it out to be the best!

The game’s Decentralized Autonamous Organization (DAO) and Guilds keep the community alive. Joining in with these opens up doors for governance across the game and items and abilities to be used in-game!

The Aavegotchi token‍

Aavegotchi has its very own token, known as GHST.

We’ve got a fun fact for you on GHST. Aave means ghost in Finish, which is why the characters and token resemble them.

Users who hold and invest in GHST tokens can use them within the ecosystem to buy and sell NFTs, characters, and other in-game items. 

You can also stake GHST on the protocol to earn more rewards. When you stake GHST, you do so via QuickSwap. Staking GHST generates GLTR tokens that are used to speed up crafting times in the Gotchiverse. 

Aside from being used for monetary gain, GHST is commonly used to govern Aavegotchi. If you hold this token, you can participate in the game’s DAO and also earn additional tokens by voting on their dashboard.
