What is Cartesi?

Cartesi is an application-specific rollup protocol. It allows developers to move away from shared computation to maximize output for their dApps.

On previous networks like Ethereum and even on Layer 2s, dApps compete with one another for computation powers. This affects the efficiency and performance of the dApps.

While Ethereum is known for its decentralization and security, the EVM powering it is limited. Cartesi Virtual Machine gives developers additional code and resources to build more impactful applications.

How is Cartesi being used?

  • Gaming
  • Finance
  • Social networks

Developers can use the Cartesi Machine for applications on Windows, Android, WASM, FreeBSD, and DOS. This pushes the utility further offering a diverse experience for both consumer and development teams.

Community is also an important part of Cartesi. Users can take part in proposals for funding, governance and also check out up and coming projects you can get involved with from the ground up.

Developers can also get involved with Crack the Honeypot. Test the Cartesi Rollups by hacking applications to earn rewards and more.

The Cartesi token

The native token of Cartesi is CTSI.

The CTSI token is used for governance via the Cartesi DAO and is used to pay for fees.

You can also begin designing your own dApps and accessing different tools to enhance your projects.

Users are also able to set up their own nodes and stake to earn additional CTSI rewards.
