As well as sponsoring the event, our Regional Marketing Manager, Afonso Belice, delivered a presentation on The role of DeFi in democratizing financial freedom in Latin America. He also took part in the evening Web3 panel discussion about Bitcoin, the concept of money and economic value.
The event gathered some of crypto’s top leaders, thinkers, builders and enthusiasts. With the industry’s best and brightest all gathered in the same place, they tackled some of the key issues facing crypto at present, discussing viable solutions to the space’s toughest challenges.
As we expand into Latin America and further connect with audiences around the globe, we were excited to meet new and old partners at the event.

Our Country Marketing Manager Afonso Belice delivered a fantastic presentation. He detailed how cryptocurrency and decentralized finance is providing vital financial opportunities to people in Latin America, and has the potential to ultimately offer financial freedom.
Drawing on examples of impoverished families living up in the Andes where banks and crucial financial infrastructure is non-existent, Afonso outlined how these families can access important financial services with just a smartphone and internet connection. All thanks to DeFi and blockchain technology.
Afonso demonstrated how, here at Cryptology, our mission is to bring these DeFi capabilities to every corner of Latin America.
Furthering financial inclusion through crypto for the underdeveloped regions in LatAM, meant Cryptology connected with Motiv. This NGO organization empowers the poorest and most poverty-stricken areas of Peru through access to Bitcoin. Cryptology were honored to visit Bitcoin centers, and witness the positive changes their work did through bitcoin and in the undeveloped communities in Peru.
In these impoverished areas of the country, Motiv’s important work is changing the lives of the locals. Educating the people about Bitcoin and crypto, while also providing access to technology and networks, means they can buy groceries, clothes and other essentials.
We’re proud to be supporting this vital project and looking forward to collaborating with Motiv more in the future.
