What is Marlin?

Marlin allows blockchain developers and businesses to build the future of Web3 with their unique programmable infrastructure.

Through Marlin’s Layer 0 services and foundational blockchain technologies, you are able to delegate computing power off-chain making for a more streamlined experience. 

The three main features of Marlin are:

The Kalypso: This ZK proof marketplace is another important feature of Marlin. Here users can buy and sell their own ZK proving schemes through an order book based exchange.

Usually specialized hardware is needed for these however, the power of Marlin allows users to experience their utility without this added expense.

Metanodes are Marlin’s own rendition of nodes found on Proof of Stake (PoS) networks. They are used to power the virtual machine on Marlin called MarlinVM.

Marlin’s development and future is dictated by their very own Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO).

The Marlin token

The native token of Marlin is called POND.

It is an ERC-20 token built on the Ethereum blockchain.

Users can: 

  • Stake - POND is staked to contribute to the network and also to activate Metanodes.
  • Govern - Stake and hold POND to participate in the Pond DAO.
  • Earn - Rewards earnt from activity on Marlin are paid out in POND tokens.

If more than one million POND is staked this gives the user an MPOND token which gives them governance privileges. This token can be then exchanged back to 1 million POND token.
