Dogwifhat, or dogwifcoin, (WIF) is a memecoin that's been getting attention in the crypto market. It's based on a popular internet meme featuring a Shiba Inu dog wearing a pink hat. The meme itself became popular on Twitter in late 2019.

In late 2023, a group of crypto enthusiasts decided to turn the Dogwifhat meme into a real cryptocurrency. That is how WIF was born. The WIF token made its debut on the Solana blockchain, a high-performance network known for its low transaction fees and fast confirmation times. It was quietly launched on the Radium decentralized exchange (DEX) with just a few thousand dollars’ worth of liquidity.

At the beginning of 2024, the token gained momentum.  The community began to gravitate towards the meme-inspired token, driving its market cap to the current $2.7 billion. Investors and traders were drawn to WIF by its playful origins and the promise of quick profits.

What is the WIF token?

As a memecoin, WIF follows in the footsteps of other dog-themed cryptocurrencies such as Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB), relying on internet culture and humor to drive its popularity.

Due to Solana's thriving decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem, memecoins like WIF have the opportunity to integrate, engage in yield farming, contribute to liquidity provision, and even launch NFTs.

Here are some other things you need to know about the token:

  • Trading Volume (24h): The trading volume of WIF in the past 24 hours is $677,620,428.
  • Circulating Supply: The circulating supply of WIF is 998,906,170 tokens.
  • Total Supply: The total supply of WIF is equal to the circulating supply of 998,906,170 WIF tokens.
